(class registration opens 31 Oct)
Know exactly what you want to knit but can't find a pattern? Designed accessory patterns but find garments intimidating? This is the class for you. We'll go through the steps and decisions needed to get from a sketch of a garment to a detailed plan that can be knit from. (The class will not cover writing patterns for publication or grading a pattern for multiple sizes and will likely require further work after class.)
How can you make a sweater that fits perfectly if you don't know what size you are? In this supportive workshop we'll take all of the measurements you need with expert guidance to ensure they're accurate. Then we'll discuss how to choose the right size in a pattern and figure out which styles will be most flattering. The best thing about making your own clothes is that you're not limited by standard sizing so we'll also look at how to make alterations to patterns for your unique shape.
Want to take project photos that truly reflect the beauty of your craft? Bring your own camera and projects and we'll look at how to get the best photos from the equipment you have. Learn how to manipulate natural light, compose appealing images and set your camera for accurate exposure and colour. I'll demonstrate simple set-ups for yarn or small projects and ways to photograph your garments on yourself.
