I can happily report that one 50g ball of Cygnet Superwash Pure Merino Double Knitting Wool is approximately 101 meters. That's about 110.45 yards.
I did this for two reasons.
Firstly it was annoying me that the length wasn't printed on the ball band. It's pretty nice yarn, cheap, easily obtainable (in the uk) and decent quality. I might want to use this yarn for a pattern sometime - probably substituting it for something else. The length is a lot more useful than weight in that case.
Secondly (in case the colour doesn't make this completly obvious) this is the yarn I'm using for my stripey socks. Otherwise known as the Narnia socks - I still don't feel great, I've read 3 and a half Narnia books over the last few days. I'd like to share the pattern - or at least how I made the socks, but I don't want to do that without being able to make subbing yarn easy.
