is it worrying that I've been too busy knitting to blog? Haha. I've also been way to busy receiving gifts, first my angel package for sp8 from Bentota. I've been so impressed with both of my angels, sweet, communicative and thoughtful people who sent me wonderful gifts without expecting anything in return. Thankyou :) Oh but you want to see, well here are a few pictures from the excited unwrapping:
Then yesterday my poor sock kit finally arrived. It had been bounced around the United States before being returned to my pal, with no explanation, poor thing. But it was well and truly worth the wait, Lauren went completely beyond what was required, and I'm avoiding looking at how much she shelled out on postage. Thankyou Lauren, I'm delighted with everything. [photopress:DSCF2467.JPG,full,pp_image]
I got my hands on the pictorial guide knitting book this week too, and as if all that wasn't enough my mum's friend Louise (who's mother is the intended recipient of the cardigan I still haven't finished fixing) brough me yarn. She runs a business helping people to de-clutter their homes and workplaces, and this was from one of her clients.
There are 2 balls of the turquoise, 5 of the yellow, and 16 of the red. I think all I should tell you about the pattern whoever it belonged to was going to make is that it's in Dawn French's knitting book. Luckily for me, and probably them, they never made it.
As for what I've been knitting so busily away at, well that can wait. I somehow got it into my head on Saturday that I should submit a pattern for the winter knitty. The deadline being th 1st of October. After canvassing people at the party I was at for accesory and gift suggestions I went home and started a sweater on Sunday. The pattern may still happen. So whether you see the result in a couple of days or a couple of months depends on what ends up getting in the way between now and the deadline. Stripy is being worn, because I'm cold and it was in reaching distance. It is not, however finished. For days I've had only the button bands on the cuffs to do, at most 5 square inches of knitting. But finishing is not my forte.
