After the sheep and wool festival I said goodby to Laura, Jess, Casey and Mary Heather at BWI airport and made my way to DC, where the wonderful Emily and her husband hosted me. On Tuesday I met up with the super talented Olga. We went to the Louise Bourgeois exhbition at the Hirshorn which was wonderful - I'd seen some of the work in it before but it was great to see everything together. Then we met up with Pam and Elspeth for lunch at the American Indian museum - really good, especially for a museum cafe! Pam and Elspeth had to leave but Olga and I hung out for a while, knitting and videoing our very different knitting styles.
We wandered around for a while and I roped Olga into participating in another silly 365 - jumping in front of the Capitol.
On Wednesday I visited Knit Happens, a rather adorable store in Alexandria. Somehow I convinced Olga that she would like to do the finishing on my red Vivian's zip, it's so perfect now!
I had so much fun chatting to knitters, eating cookies and signing books.
This is Mai with Otto.
I even found a cute February Lady Sweater that really should be mine, don't you think?
Vilde, very genorously drove a 5 hour round trip in horrid weather to pick me up from Knit Happens and take me to Charlottesville. Last night I visited The Needle Lady, where they took my sample suitcase and displayed everything so well.
More hanging out with knitters - lots of fun.
Today we're going to visit the local landmark Monticello and tomorrow I'll be at Lovely Yarns in Baltimore - it would be great to see you if you're in the area. Next week I'll be in Boston, so if you have a yarn store etc that you'd like me to come to please do get in touch.
