Any of you who've ever visited Ysolda's booth at the TNNA trade show in Columbus in June may remember our friend Erin, who lives locally and helps out in many wonderful ways to make the booth pretty. Last week she arrived in Edinburgh with her husband for a holiday, and lots of fun knitting adventures, and I'm getting to go along too!
Over the next couple of weeks we'll visit Shetland and Skye but this past weekend we stayed a little closer to home. We started off the day with a wander round St. Andrews, which also happens to be an excellent place to entertain the non-knitting golfers we brought with us. Then we headed a little down the coast to Pittenweem to play on the beach and visit a sweet yarn shop, The Woolly Brew.
Isn't her Poppy cute? I think the owner Fiona said that she's already made three of them, but its one of the few of Ysolda's patterns I haven't knit up yet. I have a feeling that's going to change soon!
There was a beautiful laceweight Ishbel knitted up for the display too, and it got Erin and I thinking about shawls. We'll both be casting on for the Sherilyn KAL next week, and luckily there was plenty of pretty yarn to choose from. (Because knitting from stash is no fun, obviously!)
Erin didn't really manage to narrow down her choices, so came away with more than one.
The Woolly Brew also has tea and cake, but if that's not enough to tempt even non-knitters to Pittenweem then maybe the view will!
I noticed today that the shop is also hosting a trunk show from Old Maiden Aunt on the 28th of September - something definitely not to miss if you're nearby. Erin and I are going to get a little head-start with Lilith's pretty yarns though, as we're going to visit her studio next week!
